The Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP), commonly known as la Catho , is a Catholic university in Paris ( France ).
The University
The Université catholique de Paris was founded in 1875 and was later renamed. Today it comprises six faculties (theology and religious studies, literature, philosophy, social sciences, pedagogy and canon law ), seven institutes, six universities of applied sciences (including the Essec group and the Institut polytechnique Saint Louis in Cergy-Pontoise ) and a university seminary (the Séminaire des Carmes ) and research laboratories.
The church of St-Joseph-des-Carmes also belongs to the university on its premises.
The ICP is affiliated with four other French Catholic universities ( Lille , Lyon , Angers and Toulouse ) in the Union des Etablissements d'Enseignement Supérieur Catholiques (UDESCA, Union of Catholic Higher Education Institutions) and a member of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC), which 200 Catholic universities worldwide belong.
