Ladislau Ludovic Bonyhádi or - Hungarian - László Bonyhádi (born March 25, 1923 in Bonyhád , Hungary , † June 13, 1997 in Miami , United States ) is a former Romanian football player of Hungarian descent. The striker played a total of 119 games in the Hungarian Hungarian National Championship and the Romanian Divizia A . There he holds 49 goals in one season, an unmatched record to this day.

Career

Bonyhádi began playing football at Szeged FC and came to Kolozsvári AC (later Ferar Cluj ) in 1941 in the Nemzeti Bajnokság , the top division of Hungary. There he demonstrated his goal threat for the first time. After a short time at Gamma FC Budapest , he returned to Ferar at the end of the war , which was meanwhile back in Romania.

In 1946 Bonyhádi moved to ITA Arad in Divizia A , the highest Romanian football league. With ITA he was able to win the Romanian championship in 1947 and 1948 , where he set up a record unmatched to this day with 49 goals in the 1947/48 season. In the same year he was also able to win the Romanian Cup . He ended his career as early as 1949.

National team

Although Bonyhádi was twice top scorer in Divizia A, he only came to three games for the Romanian national soccer team , but could not score. He made his debut on October 26, 1947 against Poland . The last international game was played against Hungary on June 6, 1948 , when Romania suffered the highest defeat in its international history with 9-0.
