Orival is a French municipality with 154 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Angoulême , the canton Tude-et-Lavalette and the municipality association Lavalette Tude Dronne, founded in 2017 . The inhabitants are called Orivallais .
geography
Orival is located in the south of the historic Angoumois province , about 38 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Orival is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montboyer in the north, Courlac in the north and northeast, Rouffiac in the east and southeast, Saint-Quentin-de-Chalais in the south and Chalais in the west and southwest.
