Z. Pike

Pike County was formed on December 9, 1815 from parts of Marion County. It was named after Zebulon Pike , a general and explorer.

According to the 2000 census , Pike County had 38,940 people in 14,792 households and 10,502 families. The population density was 37 people per square kilometer.
