history
The founding date of Mangarben ( until 1946) is in 1469. On July 31, 1721, Prince Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau bought the village, which burned down completely on August 30, 1757 during the battle of Groß-Jägersdorf , but was rebuilt. With the exemption of the farmers in 1822/24 Mangarben became a farming village and was no longer owned by the Princely House of Anhalt-Dessau.
In 1874 Mangarben was in the newly built office district Norkitten (: Meschduretschje Russian today) incorporated, which the district Insterburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 there were 265 inhabitants registered in Mangarben.
On September 30, 1928 Mangarben gave up his independence and merged with the rural community of Norkitten and the manor districts of Norkitten, Schloßberg (today Russian: Botschagi) and Woynothen (1938–1946 Kleinnorkitten , Russian: Schljusnoje) to form the new rural community of Norkitten.
As a result of the war, Mangarben came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place received the Russian name Podgornoje and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Bereschkowski selski Sowet in Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Podgornoje belonged to the rural municipality of Svobodnenskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Chernyakhovsk.
church
With its predominantly Protestant population, Mangarben was parish before 1945 in the parish of the church Norkitten (Meschduretschje), which belonged to the church district Insterburg in the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union .
