Sadowoje is located on the Polewaja (German Opelis or Klein Niebudies , 1938 to 1945 Bärengraben ) shortly before its confluence with the Inster , 19 kilometers northeast of the Rajon town of Tschernjachowsk (Insterburg) . Until 1945 there was a connection to the Insterburg – Kraupischken railway line of the Insterburger Kleinbahnen via the Bärensprung station . The route no longer exists.
history
The village of Klein Niebuden , first mentioned in 1554, consisted of several small farms and farmsteads before 1945. In 1874 the place was incorporated into the newly established district of Kaukern (today Russian: Sagorjewka), which - even after renaming in 1930 to "district of Bärensprung" - belonged to the district of Insterburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia until 1945 . In 1910 there were 102 inhabitants registered in Klein Niebudszen, in 1933 there were 93.
On September 17, 1936, the name Klein Niebudszen was changed to the new spelling "Klein Niebudschen". On June 3, 1938, the name was changed to "Bärengraben" for political and ideological reasons. After less than a year, the place was incorporated on April 1, 1939 in the neighboring community Steinsee (Ostpr) (until 1936 Groß Niebudszen , 1936–1938 Groß Niedbudschen ).
In 1945 the municipality of Steinsee with northern East Prussia came to the Soviet Union . In 1947 the former Groß Niebudszen (as "Nebudschen") was given the Russian name Sadowoje and the former Klein Niebudszen the Russian name Seljonaja Dolina. On site, however, it was handled the other way around, so Sadowoje was used as the new name for the former Klein Niebudszen. At the same time Sadowoje was assigned to the village soviet Sagorski selski Sowet in Chernyakhovsk Raion . From 2008 to 2015 the place belonged to the rural municipality Kalushskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.
