It is important to note that this list contains artists who reached the top 40 of the U.S. pop chart (Billboard Hot 100) with just one single. A one year lag period is also observed.
Those in italics are groups who have success on other charts (either major success in genre-specific charts, or - if they are an international act - in their home countries), but have only had one Top-40 song in the United States.
