The Brisbane International 2013 was a tennis tournament , the December 31, 2012 to January 6, 2013 in Brisbane took place. It was part of the ATP World Tour 2013 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Qatar ExxonMobil Open was played in Doha and the Aircel Chennai Open in Chennai , which, like the Brisbane International, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category . The ladies' tournament of the WTA Tour 2013 also took place in Brisbane .

Last year's winner Andy Murray was able to confidently defend his title. He won the final against the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets and thus secured his 25th career title. Max Mirny and Daniel Nestor won the tournament in doubles last year. This year Marcelo Melo and Tommy Robredo won the title. In the final, they beat the top seeded duo Eric Butorac and Paul Hanley in three sets. For the two of them it was the first joint title on the ATP World Tour.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.

qualification

Qualification for the Brisbane International 2013 took place from December 29 to December 31, 2012. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
