The Brisbane International 2018 presented by Suncorp was a tennis tournament that took place in Brisbane from December 31, 2017 to January 7, 2018 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2018 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open was played in Doha and the Tata Maharashtra Open in Pune , which, like the Brisbane International, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category . The women's tournament of the WTA Tour 2018 also took place in Brisbane .

The defending champion in the singles was Grigor Dimitrov . Thanasi Kokkinakis and Jordan Thompson won the last tournament in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye in the first round.

qualification

The qualification took place on December 29th and 30th, 2017. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
