The 2007/08 Elitserien season was the 33rd season of the Swedish Elitserien . The preliminary round was played from September 24, 2007 to March 8, 2008, the play-offs began on March 11 and ended with the final game on April 18. The Swedish champion 2007/08 was the HV71 . In the Kvalserien , a relegation round between the best four teams of the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan and the last two of the Elitserien, the Mora IK and Brynäs IF had to compete, in which Mora lost his starting place in the Elitserien to Rögle BK .

Regular season

mode

The twelve teams of the Elitserien each played five games against each other. Six teams played 28 home games and 27 away games, while the other teams played 27 home games and 28 away games. A team that was allowed to play more home games this season had fewer home games in the next season, unless they were relegated.

A team wins three points in regular time. If there is a tie after normal playing time, extra time is played in which the winner receives two points and the loser receives one point. In the event of a tie after extra time, each team receives one point. There are no points for a loss in regular time.
