The Football League Second Division 1909/10 was the 18th season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league . It began on September 1, 1909 and ended on April 30, 1910.

Second division champions were Manchester City and also the second-placed Oldham Athletic rose to the Football League First Division . For the two promoted teams in the following second division season 1910/11, the two first division clubs FC Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers, ranked in the table below, took their places. Grimsby Town had to relegate from the Second Division . In addition, Gainsborough Trinity and Birmingham FC were worried about staying in the class, but then received enough votes in the re-election process of the league association to be allowed to participate again in the Second Division in the following 1910/11 season. The place of Grimsby Town took the newly promoted Huddersfield Town in the following season .
