Frohmuhl (German Frohmühl ) is a French commune with 181 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saverne and the Canton of Ingwiller .

geography

The community Frohmuhl is located in the northern Vosges and is part of the Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord biosphere reserve .

Neighboring communities are Puberg and Hinsbourg in the east, Struth and Tieffenbach in the south-west and Weislingen in the north-west.

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Frohmuhl belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Zabern district in the Lower Alsace district .
