The 2014/15 season was the 25th season of the women's Bundesliga in football . The season began on August 30, 2014 and ended with the last matchday on May 10, 2015. The champions and runners-up qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League , while the last two teams were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga .
The Bayern Munich was unbeaten German champions. For the first time in DFB history, the champions for men and women came not only from the same city, but also from the same club. Defending champion VfL Wolfsburg became runner-up and, like the Munich team, entered the Champions League . The relegation places occupied the MSV Duisburg and the Herford SV .
For the first time in German football there was a league sponsor. The league is officially known as the Allianz Women's Bundesliga .
Closing table
Before the last match day, three teams could become champions. Leader of the table Wolfsburg had to compete in third place at 1. FFC Frankfurt, while the runner-up FC Bayern Munich hosted SGS Essen. Munich won 2-0 with goals from Melanie Leupolz and Vivianne Miedema in front of 5,230 spectators and benefited from the 1-1 draw between Frankfurt and Wolfsburg. Frankfurt took the lead through Verónica Boquete in front of 5,180 spectators before Martina Müller equalized in her last game.
In the relegation battle on the last day of the match, the decision was made between MSV Duisburg and SC Sand. On the last day of the match, the Duisburg women clearly won 4-0 against the relegated Herford SV. This was not enough, because competitor Sand won 1-0 at Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the same time. Thus, for the first time in league history, no team from Duisburg will be represented in the 2015/16 Bundesliga season .
