The Lake County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Tennessee . In 2010 , the county had 7,832 people and a population density of 18.5 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Tiptonville .
geography
The county is located in the extreme northwest of Tennessee, bordered to the west by the Mississippi River on Missouri and to the north on Kentucky . It has an area of 502 square kilometers, of which 79 square kilometers are water. The following neighboring counties border Lake County:

history
Lake County was formed on June 24, 1870 from parts of Obion County. It was named after Reelfoot Lake , a lake in this area that was formed by the New Madrid earthquake of 1811 .
A structure in the county is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of August 18, 2018.
