The Scottish League Cup was played for the 62nd time in 2007/08 . The Scottish Football League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League , began on August 7, 2007 and ended with the final on March 16, 2008 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . The competition was officially held as the CIS Insurance League Cup . If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out. As defending champion, Hibernian Edinburgh started the competition that had prevailed against FC Kilmarnock in the previous year's final . In this year's final, met Glasgow Rangers to Dundee United . The Rangers won the final on penalties.
