history

The first documentary mention of Tautendorf took place on June 10, 1283. At that time, the Roda monastery was designated as court lord for Tautendorf. Tautendorf belonged to the Duchy of Saxony , since 1572 to the Duchy of Saxony-Weimar and since 1603 to the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . During the Thirty Years' War and the passage of French troops under the command of Marshal Michel Ney on the day before the double battle at Jena and Auerstedt , the village and its residents were seriously damaged.

The listed village church was built in 1628.
