The Todd County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 , the county had 24,895 residents and a population density of 10.2 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Long Prairie .
geography
The county is located just west of the geographic center of Minnesota. It has an area of 2536 square kilometers, of which 97 square kilometers are water.
In the extreme northeast, the county is bounded by the Crow Wing River , a right tributary of the upper Mississippi . In its entire extent, the county is traversed from south to north by the Long Prairie River , before it leaves the county to the east a few kilometers before it flows into the Crow Wing River.

history
Todd County was formed on February 20, 1855 from parts of Cass County. It is named after John Blair Smith Todd (1814–1872), a general in the US Army and later a member of Congress .
