Vendrest is a French municipality with 730 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and is part of the canton of La Ferté-sous-Jouarre (until 2015: canton of Lizy-sur-Ourcq ). The inhabitants are called Vendrestois .

geography

Vendrest is about 18 kilometers northeast of Meaux and about 65 kilometers northeast of Paris . Vendrest is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Crouy-sur-Ourcq in the north, Coulombs-en-Valois in the north and northeast, Dhuisy in the east, Cocherel in the south and Ocquerre in the west.
