Villeparisis is a French commune with 26,322 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) about 25 kilometers northeast of Paris in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Meaux .

history
The name Villeparisis is derived from the Celtic tribe of the Parisii and is first mentioned in the 12th century. The family of Honoré de Balzac lived for several years in the village, even Balzac's love affair developed in which to Laure de Berny.
