It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and the canton of Mitry-Mory (until 2015: canton of Dammartin-en-Goële ). The inhabitants are called Rouvrésiens .

Rouvres is about 35 kilometers northeast of Paris . Rouvres is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ève in the north, Lagny-le-Sec in the east and northeast, Marchémoret in the east and southeast, Saint-Mard in the south and southwest and Dammartin-en-Goële in the west.
