Cocherel is a French municipality with 635 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and is part of the canton of La Ferté-sous-Jouarre (until 2015: canton of Lizy-sur-Ourcq ). The inhabitants are called Cocherellois .

geography

Cocherel is located about 17 kilometers east-northeast of Meaux and about 58 kilometers east-northeast of Paris . Cocherel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vendrest in the north, Dhuisy in the east and northeast, Chamigny in the south and southeast, Tancrou in the south and southwest and Ocquerre in the west.
