It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and the canton of Serris (until 2015: canton of Crécy-la-Chapelle ). The inhabitants are called Villemareuillais .

Villemareuil is located about 32 kilometers east-northeast of Paris . Villemareuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Trilport in the north, Montceaux-lès-Meaux in the north and northeast, Saint-Jean-les-Deux-Jumeaux in the east and northeast, Pierre-Levée in the southeast, La Haute-Maison in the south, Vaucourtois in the southwest , Boutigny and Saint-Fiacre to the west and Fublaines to the northwest.
The A4 autoroute runs through the municipality .
