Bassevelle is a French municipality with 364 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and the canton of La Ferté-sous-Jouarre . The inhabitants are called Bassevellois .
geography
Bassevelle is located in the Marne valley on the border with the Aisne department . Bassevelle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pavant in the north, Nogent-l'Artaud in the east and northeast, Hondevilliers in the southeast, Sablonnières and Boitron in the south, Orly-sur-Morin in the southwest and Bussières in the west.
