May-en-Multien is a French municipality with 912 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Meaux and is part of the canton of La Ferté-sous-Jouarre (until 2015: canton of Lizy-sur-Ourcq ). The inhabitants are called Mahouyots .

geography

May-en-Multien is about twelve kilometers northeast of Meaux and about 50 kilometers east-northeast of Paris on the Ourcq , which borders the municipality in the east. The Canal de l'Ourcq runs parallel to it . May-en-Multien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rouvres-en-Multien in the north, Varinfroy in the northeast, Crouy-sur-Ourcq in the east, Ocquerre in the southeast, Lizy-sur-Ourcq in the south, Le Plessis-Placy in the west and southwest as well as Rosoy-en-Multien to the west and north-west.
