Lizy-sur-Ourcq is a French municipality with 3566 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Meaux and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of La Ferté-sous-Jouarre . The inhabitants are called Lizéen (ne) s .
geography
Lizy-sur-Ourcq is located about 16 kilometers northeast of Meaux and about 60 kilometers northeast of Paris on the River Ourcq and the Canal de l'Ourcq . Lizy-sur-Ourcq is surrounded by the neighboring communities May-en-Multien in the north, Ocquerre in the east, Mary-sur-Marne in the south, Congis-sur-Thérouanne in the south-west and Le Plessis-Placy in the west and north-west.
The former Route nationale 331 runs through the municipality .
