Vicq ( Flemish : Wyk ) is a French municipality with 1492 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . Vicq belongs to the arrondissement of Valenciennes and the canton of Marly (until 2015: canton of Condé-sur-l'Escaut ). The inhabitants are called Vicquelot (te) s .

geography

Vicq is on the edge of the Regional Nature Park Scarpe-Schelde (French: Parc naturel régional Scarpe-Escaut ) near the border with Belgium . Vicq is surrounded by the neighboring communities Quarouble in the north, east and south, Onnaing in the south and south-west and Fresnes-sur-Escaut in the west and north-west.

The Vicq junction is located in the southeast of the municipality on the A2 autoroute .
