Bonnay is a French municipality with 325 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Mâcon and the canton of Cluny (until 2015: canton of Saint-Gengoux-le-National ).

Bonnay is located about 31 kilometers north-northwest of Mâcon and about 31 kilometers south-southwest of Chalon-sur-Saône . Neighboring municipalities of Bonnay are Bissy-sous-Uxelles in the north, Champagny-sous-Uxelles in the north and northeast, Étrigny in the northeast, La Chapelle-sous-Brancion in the east, Martailly-lès-Brancion in the southeast, Chissy-lès-Mâcon in the south , Cormatin in the southwest and Malay in the west and northwest.
