Michael Richter (born July 20, 1978 in East Berlin ) is a German chess player and trainer. Since 2005 he has been the founder and owner of the "Schachschule Berlin" at Olivaer Platz . He has been the official FIDE trainer since 2005 and a grandmaster since 2015 .
Life
He made his first chess steps in the chess section of SG NARVA Berlin , where youth leader Ronald Huebner was his trainer from 1986 to 1991. In order to develop himself further in chess, he switched to Schachfreunde Neukölln in 1991 . In the same year he reached fourth place at the German Youth Individual Championship U13 in Neumünster . In 1993 he repeated this placement at the German Championship for 15-year-olds in Berlin. In 1994 he was Berlin champion in the U20, a year later in the U17. In 1996 he won in Schöneck / Vogtl. the International German Youth Championship. In the German Federal Chess League he played for the first time in the 1997/98 season with SV Empor Berlin . From July 1998 he played for SK Zehlendorf , including in the 2005/06 season in the 1st Bundesliga. From 2006 to 2009 he played in the German Chess League with SC Kreuzberg . Richter has been a member of SK König Tegel since 2011 , for which he played in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2011/12 , 2013/14 and 2016/17 seasons . In the Norwegian Eliteserien , he played for the Trondheim Sjakkforening in the 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons .
Michael Richter has held the title of International Master since 1999 . He achieved the norms for this in 1997 in Bled , as well as in 1998 at the A-Open of the 26th Dortmund Chess Days and at the Berlin Summer . He fulfilled a grandmaster norm in the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 2002/03 season, in which he won against Henrik Danielsen , Konstantin Sakajew and Felix Levin and drew against Robert Rabiega , Frank Lamprecht and Piotr Murdzia . After he met other GM standards in August 2010 at a tournament in Barcelona and in April 2014 at the 14th Norderstedt Easter tournament and exceeded the required Elo rating of 2500 for the first time in November 2014 , he was awarded the title of Grand Master in 2015 .
Michael Richter has been running a chess school in Berlin since 2005, where he offers training primarily for children and young people. As the Schachpinguine Berlin association , the young people he trains also take part in competitions.
