Olivier Occéan [ ɔliv'je ɔkse'ã ] (born October 23, 1981 in Brossard , Québec ) is a Canadian football player .
Career
society
Occéan, the son of Haitian immigrants, played between 2001 and 2003 for the US-American Southern Connecticut State University in Division II of the NCAA and was chosen twice for the best selection All-American . He also played in the USL Premier Development League for Vermont Voltage while studying . After graduating, he was the 2004 MLS - Super Draft by the MetroStars selected from New York. However, before the start of the MLS season, the Norwegian football club Odd Grenland became aware of Occéan during a test match. Eventually Occéan was signed by the Norwegians without having played a competitive game for the MetroStars.
In the Tippeligaen , the first Norwegian soccer league, Occéan scored 22 goals in 46 games for Odd Grenland in two years and was poached by league rivals Lillestrøm SK at the end of 2005 with a five-year contract. In his first season at Lillestrøm he didn't score at all, his first competitive goal came in the last game of the season. By 2010 he had scored 34 goals in 91 games.
At the beginning of the 2010/11 season Occéan moved to the German third division Kickers Offenbach . At OFC he scored 16 goals in 30 games.
In the summer break of 2011 Occéan moved to the then second division team SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2014. For Fürth, he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on July 15, 2011 in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt , where he was in the starting line-up and hit his strike partner Christopher Nöthe . In total, he came to 33 missions in the 2011/12 season, in which he scored 17 goals and together with Alex Meier and Nick Proschwitz was top scorer in the second division.
For the 2012/13 season Occéan was from Eintracht Frankfurt commits. He signed a three-year contract. For the 2013/14 season he was awarded to 1. FC Kaiserslautern for two years . On July 20, 2013 he made his debut for FCK on matchday 1 in the away game against SC Paderborn , which FCK won 1-0. On November 12, 2014, his contract with Kaiserslautern was terminated.
In January 2015 Occéan returned on loan to Odds BK , where he moved permanently after his contract in Frankfurt expired in July 2015.
At the beginning of 2018 he left the club and moved to the lower class club Uraedd FK for half a year before joining second division Mjøndalen IF in August . With the club he was able to celebrate promotion to the Tippeligaen .
National team
In 2004 Occéan appeared in a friendly against Wales for the first time for the Canadian national football team . He scored two of his goals in the national team dress in Canada's 7-0 win on October 7, 2011 against St. Lucia .
