Saint-Mars-du-Désert belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Nort-sur-Erdre . The inhabitants are called Marsien (ne) s .

geography

Saint-Mars-du-Désert is located about twenty kilometers northeast of Nantes near the Marais de Saint-Mars wetland , which extends on the left bank of the Erdre River. Saint-Mars-du-Désert is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Petit-Mars in the north and north-west, Ligné in the north and north-east, Le Cellier in the east and south-east, Mauves-sur-Loire in the south, Carquefou in the south and south-west and Sucé-sur -Earth in the west.

The former Route nationale 178 runs through the municipality .
