Laun District (Kingdom of Bohemia)

The Laun District ( Czech : Okresní hejtmanství Louny ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in northwestern Bohemia in today's Ústecký kraj ( Okres Louny ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Laun district was formed in 1868 from the Laun judicial district (Czech: soudní okres Louny).

The district was home to 28,295 people in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​6.1 square miles and 47 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 41,850 people who lived in an area of ​​358.10 km² or in 59 communities.

The Laun district covered an area of ​​358.08 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 44,699 people. In 1910, 44,304 of the population indicated Czech and 311 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 84 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. A judicial district with a total of 60 communities or 62 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
