Le Bonhomme (German Diedolshausen ) is a French commune with 752 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the community association Communauté de communes de la Vallée de Kaysersberg .

geography

Le Bonhomme is located about 15 kilometers southwest of the town of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines and 25 km west-northwest of Colmar at the confluence of the Bagenelles creek in the Béhine . The Col du Bonhomme above the municipality is an important pass over the Vosges, over which the D 415 leads. The village is dominated by the ruins of Gutenburg (Judenburg) . The municipality is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Le Bonhomme belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the district of Rappoltsweiler in the district of Upper Alsace .
