The village of Ellersbach is part of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Ellersbach is located in western Lindlar on the L84 road between Waldbruch and Hohkeppel . Other neighboring towns are Oberhürholz , Oberbergscheid , Unterbergscheid , Kepplermühle , Vellingen , Schneppensiefen and Wurtscheid .

history

In 1534 the place was mentioned for the first time in the " Brotherhood Book of the Marienbruderschaft ". Spelling of the first mention: Ellersbach .

From the chart of the Duchy of Berg by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking from 1789, it can be seen that the local area was at that time part of the Stolzenbach community in the Lindlar parish in the Bergisch Amt Steinbach .

The Prussian first recording from 1840 shows the residential area under the name Ellersbach . From the Prussian new admission of 1894/96, the place is regularly recorded as Ellersbach on measuring table sheets .

In 1822, 19 people lived in the place categorized as a courtyard, which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement, belonged to the Lindlar mayor in the Wipperfürth district . For the year 1830 19 inhabitants are given for the place called Ellersbach . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne , had three residential buildings with 24 inhabitants at that time, all of which were Catholic.

The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine province lists Ellersbach in 1871 with four houses and 18 inhabitants. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, four houses with 24 inhabitants are given for Ellersbach . In 1895 the place had four houses with 14 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 24 inhabitants are given.

In 1932 the towns of Unterheiligenhoven , Klespe , Berg , Stolzenbach , Ellersbach and Wüstenhof were to be supplied with electricity by the Overath electricity cooperative, according to the council decision of the Lindlar community council.

In 2007 Ellersbach had over 40 residents, including the large children's house.
