The Jackson County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 674,158 residents and a population density of 430.5 people per square kilometer. With Independence and Kansas City , named after the Kansas River , Jackson County has two county seats .
Jackson County is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area .

The county is located in northwest Missouri on the south bank of the Missouri River , borders Kansas to the west and has an area of 1,596 square kilometers, of which 30 square kilometers are water. The following neighboring counties border Jackson County:

history
Jackson County was formed on December 15, 1826 from parts of Lafayette County. It was named after Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), the seventh President of the United States (1829-1837).
During the American Civil War most of the settlements were destroyed and the crops destroyed. This instruction is also known under General Order No. 11 (1863) .
There is a National Historic Site in the county , the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site . Five locations have National Historic Landmark status , Fort Osage , Liberty Memorial , Mutual Musicians' Foundation Building , Harry S. Truman Historic District, and Harry S. Truman Farm Home . 340 buildings and sites in the county are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 3, 2018).

According to the 2010 census , Jackson County had 674,158 people in 269,515 households. The population density was 430.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.53 people lived in each of the 269,515 households.
The racial the population was composed of 66.9 percent white, 23.9 percent African American, 0.5 percent Native American, 1.6 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 3.1 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 8.4 percent of the population.
24.6 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 63.1 percent were between 18 and 64 and 12.3 percent were 65 years or older. 51.5 percent of the population was female.
The median income for a household was 45,798 USD . The per capita income was $ 24,817. 15.3 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
