history

1330 lists the Taxa generalis Körperich as Kirpurg , then in 1570 as Kirprich . For a long time in the Middle Ages and afterwards, Körperich belonged to the Luxembourg county of Vianden .
In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the Austrian Netherlands , to which the Duchy of Luxembourg belonged, and annexed it in October 1795 . From 1795 to 1814 the place belonged to the canton Vianden in the forest department . Body I was the seat of a mairie .
In 1815, the former Luxembourg area east of the Sauer and Our was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . In order for the site Körperich 1816 came to Bitburg in Trier in the Grand Duchy of the Lower Rhine , which in 1822 Rheinprovinz opened. Körperich became the official seat of the mayor's office of the same name .
After the First World War temporarily occupied by the French, the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .

coat of arms
Blazon : "In gold, a red oblique left-hand bar with three white Maltese crosses after the figure and accompanied by two red lilies ." | |
Foundation of the coat of arms: The spatially closer together former municipalities Obersgegen, Körperich and Seimerich were largely determined and influenced by the Commende des Johanniterordens, which had its seat in neighboring Roth. The three Maltese crosses - symbols of the Order of St. John - have therefore been added for these communities. The communities of Kewenig and Niedersgegen to the south were oriented towards the former Echternach Abbey. According to the Luxembourg State Archives, the Echternach Abbey had a Gleven (line) cross, as evidenced by an oath hand in the seal. For these two municipalities, the two lines have therefore been included and thus all formerly independent municipalities are represented in the coat of arms. Before the Knights of St. John there was a settlement of the Temple Knight Order in Roth until 1311. This led a red oblique left bar in gold in the quartered shield. The shield base in gold is also adopted. Since the signs are on a "golden ground", there is also a talking coat of arms, as the area of the now united communities is popularly called "golden ground". |
