List of cenotaphs in the Steinburg district
The list of cenotaphs in the Steinburg district shows the various memorials in the Steinburg district for those who died in the last wars or recalls military conflicts that are connected with the respective communities. Gravestones of prisoners of war and slave labor are also noted.
Most of these memorials were erected after the First World War . Many of these monuments have been supplemented over the years by additions, mainly related to the Second World War or to displacement . Sometimes there are also memories of the reunification at the same location. Only the main inscription on the monument is mentioned here; individual names of those killed or missing are not mentioned.
At some memorial sites there are also memorials to the German-Danish War (which restored the unity of Schleswig-Holstein with the old slogan Up forever ungodly ) or to the Franco-German War (1870–1871) .
One of the oldest memorials is in Glückstadt , the ball monument commemorates the wars of liberation . There is also a memorial stone for this event in Münsterdorf , but it was erected a hundred years later.

✠ Dedicated to the fallen heroes by the Beidenfleth community. They gave her everything, their life their blood. They gave it up with holy courage. They sacrificed the future and the happiness of their youth. You will never return home. 1914–1918 1939–1945 To commemorate the fallen and missing , but to reflect on people. You also made sacrifices from mother and child. At this point we should think of the many dead of those who had been expelled from their homes, who had to give up their lives during the war, in captivity, during the expulsion or in the winter storms . |

Remarks
-
↑ Translation German:
This memorial was erected by ITSENÄISYYDEN LIITTO to commemorate the Finnish Jäger Battalion.
ITSENÄISYYDEN LIITTO is the Finnish Independence League according to free translation -
↑ Translation High German:
The war tore them from home and hearth.
They gave their lives under the sword.
There was a lot of crying here, the misery was great.
The stone should tell of love and need, it should
say of gratitude and comfort.
There is still a home for us and for them.
The community of Wewelsfleth
