Radio ( world receiver )

Word programs

Radio stations that broadcast exclusively or almost exclusively verbal contributions; Collective term for word-oriented information programs .

Germany

Following the example of the French broadcaster France Info , almost all ARD broadcasters have meanwhile also set up pure news channels and information programs. Such transmitters are:

  • The Germany radio is the nationwide information program of Germany radios . During the day, news is broadcast every half hour.
  • B5 currently from Bayerischer Rundfunk (nationwide on VHF and via DAB +)
  • hr-info in Hessen (in some cities in Hessen on VHF and via DAB +)
  • Inforadio from rbb in Berlin and Brandenburg (nationwide on VHF and via DAB +)
  • MDR currently in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia (almost nationwide on VHF and via DAB +)
  • NDR info in Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bremen (nationwide on VHF and via DAB +)
  • SWR currently in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate (via DAB +, in Stuttgart on VHF)
  • WDR 5 in North Rhine-Westphalia (nationwide on FM and via DAB +)
  • antenne saar in Saarland (via DAB +, mainly takes over programs from SWRinfo and Radio France Internationale in French)

Austria

Switzerland

B5 aktuell, Inforadio, hr-info, SWRinfo and antenne saar take over the ARD info night from MDR Aktuell at night .

All information programs are organized under public law. The pure news channels such as B5 aktuell, NDR info and hr-info constantly send news during the day (B5, NDR info, MDR Aktuell and SWRinfo every 15 minutes, rbb inforadio and hr-info every 20 minutes), with regional information, economic or Sports news, others broadcast a word program with a high proportion of information (WDR 5).

The attempt to establish a private news broadcaster has failed for the time being: until 2000, Radioropa broadcasted info via long wave and ADR (Astra). From August 1, 2005 to September 30, 2008, Radioropa was again on DVB-T in Berlin and an FM frequency in the Eifel. The broadcast operation was then surprisingly stopped.

  • World Radio Network brings news and information broadcasts from German-speaking foreign stations (e.g. from radio stations from China, Namibia, Hungary, etc.) across Europe on Astra (11612 MHz, H, analog) and Hotbird (12597 MHz, V, SR 27500, FEC 3 / 4, APID 2105)
