Montgueux is a French commune with 399 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Troyes and since 2015 to the canton of Saint-Lyé (previously canton of Sainte-Savine ).

Montgueux is about ten kilometers west-northwest of Troyes . Montgueux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Lyé in the north and north-east, Barberey-Saint-Sulpice in the north-east, La Chapelle-Saint-Luc in the east and north-east, Torvilliers in the south and south-east, Messon in the south-west and Macey in the west and north-west.
