Saint-Parres-lès-Vaudes is a French commune with 1,004 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Troyes and the canton of Bar-sur-Seine .
location
Saint-Parres-lès-Vaudes is located in the southern half of the Aube department about 18 km (as the crow flies) southeast of the city of Troyes . The eastern border of the municipality is formed by the Seine River , which is also the western border of the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park .
The hamlets of Courgelin, La Fontaine Saint-Thomas and Les Claudots have grown together to form the village of Saint-Parres-lès-Vaudes. There are also some individual farmsteads.
history
The parish belonged to the District of Bar sur Seine from 1793 to 1801. It was also part of the canton of Chappes from 1793 to 1801 and part of the canton of Bar-sur-Seine since 1801 . From 1801 to 1926, Saint-Parres-lès-Vaudes was administratively part of the Bar-sur-Seine arrondissement. This went on in 1926 in the Arrondissement of Troyes, to which the community still belongs today.

The increasing mechanization of agriculture led to a decline in the number of inhabitants to the lows in the interwar period. Apart from the period between 1982 and 1990, the number of residents has been growing steadily since 1921. The reason for this is the proximity to the city of Troyes with its numerous jobs.
