Pouan-les-Vallées is a French commune with 539 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Troyes and the canton of Arcis-sur-Aube .
geography
The municipality is located in the Champagne Sèche natural landscape , around 27 kilometers north of Troyes . Neighboring municipalities are Champigny-sur-Aube in the north, Ormes in the northeast, Villette-sur-Aube in the east, Nozay in the southeast, Prémierfait in the southwest, Bessy in the west and Viâpres-le-Petit in the northwest.
The river Aube runs along the northern boundary of the municipality , the local area itself is crossed by its tributary Barbuise .

history
An important early medieval "princely grave" comes from Pouan, and features a gold handle spatha , a gold wrist ring and buckles set with almandines . The signet ring with the inscription Heva indicates the name of the deceased.
