Saint-Lyé is a French commune with 2,915 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Troyes and since 2015 to the canton of Saint-Lyé (previously canton Troyes-4 ). The inhabitants are called Lyotains .

geography

Saint-Lyé is about ten kilometers northwest of Troyes on the Seine . The Canal de la Haute-Seine also runs through the municipality . Saint-Lyé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mergey in the north, Saint-Benoît-sur-Seine in the east, Sainte-Maure in the east and south-east, Barberey-Saint-Sulpice in the south and south-east, Montgueux in the south and south-west, Macey in the south-west, Le Pavillon-Sainte-Julie to the west and Payns to the northwest.

The municipality's train station is on the Paris – Mulhouse railway line .

In the castle of Saint-Lyé, Louis X married his second wife, Clementine of Hungary, on August 19, 1315 .
