Estissac is a French commune with 1,855 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aube in the Région Grand Est . Estissac belongs to the arrondissement of Troyes and the canton of Aix-en-Othe (until 2015: canton of Estissac ). The inhabitants are called Liébautins , with reference to the former name of the municipality of Saint-Liébault.

The localities Thuisy and Vaugeley belong to the municipality.

geography

Estissac is located around 19 kilometers west-southwest of Troyes in the south of the Champagne region on the Vanne River , into which the Ancre and Bétrot rivers flow. Estissac is surrounded by the neighboring communities Dierrey-Saint-Julien in the north and north-east, Bucey-en-Othe in the east, Chennegy in the south-east, Villemoire-en-Othe in the south, Aix-Villemaur-Pâlis with Aix-en-Othe in the south-west, Neuville-sur-Vannes in the west and Mesnil-Saint-Loup in the northwest.

The A5 car route and the former route nationale 60 (today's D660) run through the municipality .
