Charmont-sous-Barbuise is a French commune with 1,017 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Troyes and the canton of Arcis-sur-Aube .

Charmont-sous-Barbuise is located about twelve kilometers north-northeast of Troyes on the A26 autoroute and on the Barbuise river . Charmont-sous-Barbuise is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montsuzain in the north, Chaudrey in the north and northeast, Avant-lès-Ramerupt in the northeast, Longsols and Onjon in the east, Luyères in the south and southeast, Vailly in the southwest, Feuges in the west and Aubeterre in the Northwest.

On January 1, 1973, the previously independent municipality Fontaine-Luyères was incorporated into the municipality of Charmont-sous-Barbuise.
