Creney-près-Troyes is located about four kilometers northeast of Troyes city center. Creney-près-Troyes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vailly in the north, Luyères in the northeast, Assencières in the east, Villechétif in the south, Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres in the southwest and Pont-Sainte-Marie in the west and southwest.

The A26 autoroute runs through the eastern part of the municipality .
