Saint-Privat is a French commune with 1,735 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ardèche in the Region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement Largentière and the canton Aubenas-2 .
geography
The municipality is located in the northeastern foothills of the Cevennes , in the urban center northeast of Aubenas , around 30 kilometers west of Montélimar and 50 kilometers southwest of Valence . It is part of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park . The neighboring municipalities of Saint-Privat are:
- Saint-Julien-du-Serre to the north
- Vesseaux in the northeast
- Lussas in the southeast
- Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas to the south
- Aubenas in the southwest and
- Ucel in the west.
Coming from the north, the Luol river crosses the town and flows just below it into the Ardèche river, which runs along the southern municipal boundary .
Transport links
The municipal area is served by the departmental road D104, which leads from Aubenas to Privas . The departmental road D259 leads north along the Luol into the mountains of the Monts d'Ardèche .
The nearest airport, Aerodrome d'Aubenas-Ardèche , is about 10 kilometers away in Aubenas, and the connection to the railway line from Marseille to Lyon can be found at Montélimar train station.
