Dechen District (Kingdom of Bohemia)

The Děčín District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Děčín, politický okres Děčín ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in northern Bohemia in today's Ústecký kraj ( Okres Děčín ). Seat of the district administration was the city of Decin ( Decin ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Dechen was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Bensen ( Czech soudní okres Benešov ), Bohemian Kamnitz ( Česká Kamenice ) and Děčín ( Děčín ).

In 1869 there were 82,275 people living in the Tetschen district, the district comprising an area of ​​10.5 square miles and 69 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 107,757 people who lived in an area of ​​602.88 km² or in 85 parishes.

In 1910, the Tetschen district covered an area of ​​602.83 km² and had a population of 120,400 people. In 1910, 115,413 of the residents stated German as their colloquial language. In addition, 1,490 Czech speakers and 3,497 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. The district included three judicial districts with a total of 88 communities and 100 cadastral communities.
