Jakowlewo ( Russian Яковлево , German  Jakobsdorf , Kreis Wehlau ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Jakowlewo is located about 25 kilometers northwest of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) on a road that leads from Krasnooktjabrskoje (Groß Ponnau) via Kabanowo (Pelkeninken) to federal road A216 (former German Reichsstrasse 138 , now also European route 77 ). There is no train connection.

After Jakob von Ponnau from the later family of the Ostaus had received the hand- fests for Groß Ponnau in 1394 from Grand Master Konrad von Jungingen , the Ponnaus founded the place Jakobsdorf with 50 Hufen Land, for whose name Jakob von Ponnau (as already with Groß Ponnau ) godparent has stood. Ten years later, the place was first mentioned in a document. In 1874, the place came to the newly established District Kuglacken (now Russian: Kudrjawzewo) used for up to 1945 county Wehlau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 Jakobsdorf had 59 inhabitants.

On November 1, 1928 the rural community Jakobsdorf gave up its independence and joined the rural community Neu Ilischken (Russian: Bobruiskoje, no longer existent) and the manor district Kuglacken and the rural community Trakischkehmen (1938-1946: Kleintraschken, no longer existed) from the Parnehnen district (now Russian: Krasny Jar) merged to form the new rural community of Kuglacken.

As a result of the war, Jakobsdorf was assigned to northern East Prussia in the Soviet Union in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Jakowlewo" and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Kamenski selski soviet in Chernyakhovsk Raion . From 2008 to 2015 Yakovlevo belonged to the rural municipality of Kamenskoye selskoye posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.

The population of Jakobsdorf was almost without exception Protestant denomination before 1945 and was thus parish into the parish of the Church of Plibischken (today Russian: Gluschkowo).
