Neuenhof is a residential area in Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district .

Location and description

The place is east of Witzhelden on the L294 state road on the watershed between the Wersbach and the Sengbach near the city limits of Solingen and Burscheid . Neighboring towns are Bern , Brachhausen , Nüsenhöfen , Hölverscheid , Meie , Altenbach , Höhscheid , Heide and Wersbacher Mühle on Leichlinger and Heide , Kippekofen and Schneppendahl on the Burscheider urban area.

The place appears for the first time on the Prussian first recording from 1844 and is labeled there with Neuenhof .

In 1832 Neuenhof belonged to the parish Witzhelden of the mayor's office of Burscheid under the name Neuenheide . The place, which was categorized as a court town according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings at the time. At that time, 13 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, two houses with eleven inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had three houses with 23 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 28 inhabitants.

On January 1, 1975, the community of Witzhelden was incorporated with Neuenhof in Leichlingen.
