Friedhelm Ptok

Friedhelm Ptok (born August 7, 1933 in Hamburg ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Life

As a young man, Ptok completed an apprenticeship as a printer at his father's will, before, however, against his father's wishes, he completed private acting training. After the final exam, he started his first engagement at the Low German Stage in Flensburg in 1957 .

From 1959 to 1962 he was employed at the Ulm Theater under Kurt Hübner , after which he was part of the ensemble of the Theater of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen until 1965 . From 1965 to 1969 he worked at the Münchner Kammerspiele , from 1969 to 1972 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. In 1972 he was signed by the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin .

As a voice actor he lent a. a. Ralph Bellamy ( Orchid, the gangster brother ), John Cleese ( Frankenstein ), Derek Fowlds ( Yes Minister ), Joel Gray ( Dallas ), Jeremy Irons ( fraud ), James Mason ( Pandora and the Flying Dutchman ), Ian McDiarmid (as emperor or Chancellor / Senator Palpatine in four of the Star Wars films) and the depressed robot Marvin in the film The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy . In V for Vendetta he dubbed Bishop Anthony James Lilliman, played by John Standing . He also spoke the character Palpatine in the animation series Star Wars: Clone Wars , Star Wars: The Clone Wars , Star Wars Rebels and in the radio play adaptations of James Luceno's novels Labyrinth of Evil and Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader .
