The Super League 2009/10 was the fourth season since the top division in Greece was called the Super League . The championship was played with 16 clubs, the 13 best of the 2008/09 season and three promoted teams from Beta Ethniki . For the first time since the league was renamed from Alpha Ethniki to Super League, Olympiacos Piraeus did not become champions, Panathinaikos Athens prevailed and took first place. In the playoffs, Piraeus fell from second place in the regular season to fifth. Otherwise these had no further influence on the placements of the individual teams. Only PAS Ioannina got down straight away.
